What It Is
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes from Warner Brothers is the sequel to LEGO Batman: The Video Game, the most successful selling LEGO video game of all time. Batman and Robin are back in an all new adventure and this time they are bringing their super-friends, including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern (to name a few) to help battle the Joker, Lex Luthor and their fellow villains.
Why It’s Fun
LEGO Batman 2 features the classic LEGO video game style that fans of the games love. Players play through an adventure as LEGO mini-figure versions of Batman, Robin, Superman, etc. as they gather LEGO pieces, battle enemies and solve puzzles.
For the first time in the franchise’s history, the mini-figures speak. The characters’ dialogue is just as funny as the previous LEGO games pantomime style of storytelling and kids love hearing the figures talking.
Who It’s For
Fans of the LEGO video games come in all ages (kids to adults) and LEGO Batman 2 is going to be exactly what they have come to expect from this always fun and entertaining series.
The game is rated E10+ because of cartoon-like violence. It’s no more violent than the typical, children’s cartoon.
As for difficulty, kids ages seven and up should have no problem figuring out how to play.
What To Be Aware Of
Batman and Robin are the only playable characters at the start of the game, however, you quickly unlock more playable characters as the story unfolds.
Repeat Play
This game features a much larger area for players to explore than past LEGO video games. That area is Gotham city and since you play as Batman, you get to explore in the Batmobile, Batwing and Batboat. This larger environment invites players to return repeatedly to try to find all the hidden LEGO pieces scattered around the game.
