What It Is
The Disney Junior Doc McStuffins Talk & Trace Clipboard is part of VTech's Preschool Learning series toy line. The clipboard features a magnetic drawing surface, a slide eraser, an attached stylus for drawing and tracing, and three button modes. A fourth mode can also be activated when one of the three included stencils is attached to the clipboard. Once you've turned on the clipboard, you can interact with Doc and her friends. When you enter each mode of play, instructions will also be given.
In Stuffy's Scribbles mode, Doc encourage you to draw anything you want. Sound effects will play as you draw or scribble, and Doc will offer words of encouragement such as "Great drawing!"
In Musical Drawing mode, keep drawing to keep the music playing for Lambie. When you stop drawing the music stops playing too.
In Trace with Hallie mode, insert one of the three detachable stencils and help Hallie take notes by tracing the different letters and numbers featured on the stencils. As you trace the letters, the clipboard will announce the letter being traced. Trace over it again and it will state an activity or healthy food that begins with that letter.
The last activity mode is Healthy Drawing mode. As an aspiring doctor, Doc is all about encouraging your little ones to eat healthy foods and being active. Listen for instructions on what healthy object to draw. Clear your screen and press the healthy drawing button again for a new item to draw.
Why It’s Fun
This is a fun interactive toy for Doc McStuffins fans can use for roleplay while also learning along with Doc, her best friends Stuffy and Lambie, and her nurse Hallie the Hippo. The activity modes Stuffy's Scribbles and Musical Drawing are more open-ended, encouraging kids to be creative, while modes such as Trace with Hallie are more educational and teach kids how to correctly write different letters and numbers.
Who It’s For
The Disney Junior Doc McStuffins Talk & Trace Clipboard is for Doc McStuffins fans ages 2–5.
What To Be Aware Of
Press down firmly with the stylus in order for the screen to register the device and make your designs and letters visible.
Sometimes when tracing the numbers in Trace with Hallie mode, we found tracing the bottom of a number can register the number below it on the screen, which for beginner learners may cause a bit of confusion.
The toy will automatically power-down after several minutes of inactivity.
Two AAA batteries are included but they are for demo purposes only.
