What It Is
The object of the game PicWits! is to use your wit to make the caption fit. The game comes with 504 picture cards and 144 caption cards. Playing with four or more players, deal eight picture cards to each player. Then choose one player to act as judge for the first round. To begin a round, the judge draws the top card from the caption card deck. After reading it aloud, he places it face-up on the table. All other players look at their picture cards to find the best match, placing their choice face-down on the table in front of the judge. The judge shuffles the chosen cards and flips them over one at a time. Then the judge decides which card in his or her opinion best fits the caption. The person who played that card wins the round and is awarded the caption card. A new judge takes over for the second round, and players continue playing rounds until one player has collected enough caption cards to win. The number of players you have determines how many cards must be collected in order to win.
Why It’s Fun
If you're familiar with Apples to Apples, the concept of PicWits! is the same. The answers in this game can be real, twisted, or tongue-in-cheek. But remember, you want to pick a card that the judge will choose.
Who It’s For
PicWits! is for ages 10 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
The majority of the pictures on the cards contain nothing foul or offensive. However, some parents might find a few pictures that they deem inappropriate for their kids. If you take a look through all the picture cards before playing, you can remove the ones you don't like. There are so many picture cards in this game that removing a few won't hinder your ability to play.
