What It Is
Crayola's new Create 2 Destroy line gives kids the opportunity to engage in imaginative roleplay through build-and-destroy experiences. With the Fortress Invasion set, kids can mold bricks and boulders to build fortresses and warriors to defend them. Then, bust out the four catapults to blast it all apart. And when rubble is all that remains, build the fortresses again and create a whole new battle scene.
The kit comes with three colors of Crayola's Morphix dough. The Morphix compound has a gritty texture and is heavier for easy stacking and building. The kit also includes 36 molds and a playmat. The instructions have suggested games that kids can play once they've built their boulders and fortresses, but, of course, kids can also play however they want. The set is compatible with other Create 2 Destroy sets, which are sold separately, for more smash-up adventures. Kids can place the playmates from the different sets together to extend and enhance the battle zone.
Why It’s Fun
Kids will love building action-packed battle scenes with this playset. The Morphix compound is easy to use and holds its shape well once kids mold it. The Fortress Invasion set engages kids in lots of imaginative and creative play.
Who It’s For
Fortress Invasion is for ages 4 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
The instructions were very easy to follow. However, we had some difficulty using the molds. It was hard to tell what some of the molds were and get the Morphix compound out of the molds. We found that it worked best if we just used our hands.
Morphix is an abrasive compound that may scratch household surfaces. Do not place Morphix directly on surfaces (countertops, tables, flooring) to knead, mold, or dry.
Molded pieces will begin to harden in two to four hours and will fully dry overnight. If you want to reuse your Morphix to create something different, it's important that you return the Morphix back to its resealable container before it has had a chance to start drying out.
