What It Is
Skippity Do is a hip-hopping game of Chinese jump rope. It comes with two 10-foot-long ropes and one 16-foot-long rope. With three or more players, kids can decide how athletic, creative, and unique their jumping game will be. There is a Quick Start Guide on the inside of the package that shows how two kids (called enders) will stand with a rope around their ankles while another kid jumps around the rope according to different step patterns. The enders call out the steps while the jumper completes them. Steps might be in, out, or side. If a jumper successfully completes the steps, the enders can raise the rope so that it is around their calves, knees, thighs, etc., and the jumper will try to complete the pattern again. If a jumper missteps, the game begins again with a new jumper.
Why It’s Fun

Executing the steps can be challenging and will probably take kids some practice before they remember how to move when each step is called out. This active game can be played inside or outside, engaging kids in fun, physical activity no matter the weather.
