What It Is
In the game Monkey's Up, players compete to get the best score by flipping, switching, and stealing monkeys. Each monkey has a value that is hidden under its feet, only to be revealed when flipped. The player who flips over three of the highest numbered monkeys wins.
To start, all monkeys are placed number-side down in the center of the playing space. Each player picks three monkeys at random and places them number-side down in front of him or her. Then players take turns rolling the cube and completing the action.
If you roll "Switch", trade one of your monkeys for any other monkey. If you roll "Steal", take any monkey and place it in front of you. If you roll "Flip", turn any monkey so that its number shows. If you roll "Reverse", pass the cube in the opposite direction.
The game ends when one player has three monkeys flipped over. If the other players do not have three monkeys flipped over, they must flip one, two, or three monkeys to add to their score. Some of the monkeys have an X on the bottom. An X is worth zero points. Players add up the numbers on three monkeys in their possession, and the player with the highest number wins.
Monkey's Up comes with 18 monkeys, a cube, and instructions. It is for two to six players.
Why It’s Fun
