What It Is
The Very Hungry Caterpillar from the classic Eric Carle book of the same name comes off the book pages in a new line of infant toys from Kids Preferred. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Apple Playset features the caterpillar, which crinkles when you squeeze it, inside an apple with Velcro top closure, clear front panel, and side opening for take-and-put play. The Very Hungry Caterpillar can peek out of the side or climb in the apple to eat the five soft fruit pieces. The strawberry and the pear squeak, the orange and the cherry crinkle, and the blueberry rattles.
Why It’s Fun
This colorful playset includes many different textures and sounds, which engage babies in tactile play. Playing with the fruit pieces and putting the caterpillar through the apple's side opening help babies develop fine motor skills. This playset also makes a nice complement to the book, which is sold separately, because as parents read aloud the book, kids and parents together can play out the story.
