What It Is

The Book of Impossible Objects features 25 eye-popping projects and illusions. The 48-page activity book comes with plastic pieces, paper parts, and special pages that allow kids to experience and complete the projects. Spin the wobble stone and watch it reverse direction all by itself. Wander the paper labyrinth, an ever-changing folded maze. Use the Mirror Monster Maker to give yourself three eyes. Follow a road sign that points in a different direction every time you check it. These objects all work like magic, but there are no tricks here. All the weirdness has a scientific basis, and the "why" behind each illusion is explained in the book.

Why It’s Fun

The Book of Impossible Objects is a cross between an activity kit, a magic kit, and a science kit. Kids who are curious about magic and science will like completing the projects and discovering the "magic" behind them.

Who It’s For

The Book of Impossible Objects is for ages 8 and up. It will appeal most to the kids who have the patience and dexterity to assemble the kits. Kids interested in magic may also get a kick out of this.

What To Be Aware Of

You will also need a few common household objects to complete some of the projects: a dollar bill, a quarter, paper clips, and a camera.
