What It Is
Barnyard Buddies is a card game where players help Farmer Brown find missing animals. The game comes with 25 animal cards, each with one of five different animals (dog, cat, horse, cow, goat) in five different colors (red, blue, green, yellow, and purple). There are also 25 herd cards, each showing four different animals in four colors. Place the deck of herd cards face down in the middle of the playing space. Randomly spread the animal cards face up around the herd cards.
The youngest player starts by turning over the top card of the herd deck. There are four different animals in four different colors on the card. The fifth animal with the fifth color is missing. This animal must be found among the face up cards scattered around the playing space. For example, if the herd card shows a yellow goat, blue horse, green cow, and red dog, the missing animal is the purple cat. All players try to be the first to identify the card by touching it and announcing the missing animal in the missing color. That player will take the face up herd card as a point.
The game continues in this way until the last card of the herd deck has been turned over and the missing animal on that card is found. The player who has collected the most herd cards wins the game.
Barnyard Buddies is for two to eight players.
