What It Is
The new Angry Birds Star Wars app comes to life with a line of toys and games from Hasbro. Players bombard villainous hogs in the sandblasted terrain of Tatooine with the Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Tatooine Battle Game. The object of the game, much like the app, is to launch birds and knock down pigs to score points. The game is for one to two players, so if you're playing with another person, you'll take turns being the builder and the launcher. The builder will roll the build die and create the structure shown. The launcher will roll the launch die to determine how many shots he gets to knock down the pigs. Once the structure is assembled, the launcher launches the Luke Skywalker bird to try and knock down the Jabba the Hutt and Rancor pigs. The launcher scores 1,000 points for each pig knocked completely off the structure. He also scores 1,000 points for any unused launches after the pigs have been knocked down. The builder and launcher switch roles and play again. This ends the first round. The player with the highest score after three rounds wins. The game also comes with a Millennium Falcon launcher, 12 Jenga blocks, two dice, a label sheet for the dice, and a game guide.
Why It’s Fun
If you're familiar with the gameplay of Jenga, you'll come to realize that the Jenga Tatooine Battle Game has nothing to do with Jenga beyond having pieces that fall. But the game does mimic the gameplay of the Angry Birds Star Wars app and interprets it in a way that works as a real world skill-and-action game. The build-it-knock-it-down action is perfectly positioned for younger kids. It's fun to play with another person, but also a lot of fun to build and launch solo.
Who It’s For
The Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Tatooine Battle Game is for ages 8 and up. It will appeal to kids who like skill and action games.
What To Be Aware Of
The game includes a code that unlocks exclusive in-app content. Purchase of the Angry Birds Star Wars app is required.
The images on the build die are rather small, so you'll need pretty good eyesight or glasses to see what you're supposed to build.
Do not aim at people's eyes or faces.
