What It Is
Words with Friends was originally launched by the gamemaker Zynga on Facebook, and it became popular due to its fluidity of social interaction in a virtual world. Hasbro signed a licensing deal to produce real-world versions of the game. So now with the Words with Friends To Go game, you can create a face-to-face game of Words with Friends anywhere, anytime. Without the online connection, though, the game is essentially Scrabble. The arrangement of the bonus squares on the smaller game board is styled after the Words with Friends mobile game. The object of the game is to score the most points by making words out of the letter tiles you've drawn. If you want to, you can still use your mobile device in this game by downloading a word check and score pad from http://zynga.tm/WWFfacetoface.com. When you're done playing, everything fits inside the portable letter tile case.
Words with Friends To Go comes with a foldable game board, 104 tiles, a portable case, and a game guide. The game is for two to four players.
Why It’s Fun
If you're a fan of Words with Friends, then you may already play this game to go on your mobile device. But if you want to play the game on the go with real live friends, then you'll enjoy Words with Friends To Go.
Even though this game is meant to be played on the go, this isn't really a game that can be played on a car or train. First, you'll need to have a pretty sizable flat space to fit the game board. Also, the letter tiles in this version are smaller than traditional Scrabble or Words with Friends letter tiles and there is nothing to keep them on the game board. So any sudden movement will send them flying off the board. There are also no tile racks to hold the tiles you've drawn. That said, we do like that everything, including the game board, fits nicely inside the letter tile case, but you might want to wait to play this game until you get to your hotel room.
Who It’s For
Words with Friends To Go is for ages 13 and up.
