What It Is
Citrus Lane creates care packages for parents. Each month, a box of assorted products is delivered right to your door. Each box is filled with four or five themed goodies tailored to a child's age. For example, the themed Little Artists box included organic and edible crayons for babies, while toddlers received an eco-friendly paint set in their Little Artists box. The boxes and themes change every month, and no themes are repeated. Past themes have included Fun in the Sun, Bed + Bathtime Fun, and Play to Learn. The Back to School box for babies included a Skip Hop Hug & Hide Stroller Toy, a Packin' Smart Stack-N-Seal for storing snacks, Andy Warhol's Colors board book, CleanWell Disinfectant Spray, and Juice Beauty Green Apple SPF 15 Moisturizer, which was a special treat for mom.
Parents can subscribe by visiting CitrusLane.com. The boxes cost $25 per month with free shipping. There are also long-term subscription options. A three-month subscription is $75, a six-month subscription is $125, and an annual subscription is $250.
Why It’s Fun
Each Citrus Lane box includes innovative and fun products designed to help new and expecting parents make healthier product choices for their families and make life a little more fun. Parents don't have to do any research or shopping to find the best items for their little ones. Citrus Lane takes care of it all, from researching and recommending great products to delivering them straight to parents' doors.
Who It’s For
Citrus Lane is for parents of children ages birth–3.
What To Be Aware Of
Citrus Lane also offers a deluxe stand-alone shower box to be used as a baby shower gift. The box can be bought separately or included in a gift subscription.
We can see this as a nice gift item, and the company says that the items are picked by parents, though we don't know who those parents are. Also, the company says they do not let products buy into the packages, so it's not necessarily promotional.
Still, it's hard to imagine a parent buying this for herself, and the real value of subscriptions will most likely be to gift-givers who want to send a gift every month. Still, new moms are often overwhelmed with stuff, and each month the recipients are more or less at the mercy of the people selecting the products.
