What It Is
Pentago is a strategy game that might remind you of Othello or Tic-Tac-Toe, but it has unique and potentially addictive gameplay. The idea is to get five of your marbles in a row. Players take turns placing their marbles on the game board, and the first to get five in a row wins. It sounds simple, but there is a twist. On each turn, in addition to placing a marble, you have the option to turn one of the quadrants of the board 90 degrees. Strategy gets more and more complex because the board could change on every move. The game board has a top that fits right over it to hold everything together for travel. The game is for two players.
Why It’s Fun
One of the things we think is so smart about this game is that the basic play is easy. But as you get better, you'll be continually challenged to use more and more logic and think further ahead. In other words, the more you play, the more you'll likely be intrigued and challenged, and that's an excellent component of a strategy game. If you like games that make you think a little or a lot, Pentago is a great choice.
Who It’s For
Pentago is for ages 6 and up.
This will definitely appeal most to strategy game buffs, but the game play is fast enough that casual players will enjoy it as well.
