What It Is
Kids can "cook" along with favorite Sesame Street friends with the interactive Cookie Monster Kitchen Café where chef Cookie Monster comes to life. Slide the window and Elmo and Abby Cadabby will join in the cooking fun. The characters will even sing along with Cookie Monster. Kids can "feed" Elmo and Abby pretend food, which will disappear then reappear in the oven. When kids slide both Elmo and Abby open, a pass-through window will be revealed. Kids can also slide the burner to hear sizzling cooking sounds and turn the clicking oven knobs. Press the bell to hear a dinging sound or to hear Cookie Monster speak. If you hold down the bell, the Kitchen Café song will play. Lyrics for the song can be found in the instruction manual. The 30-inch tall playset includes six play food pieces, a spatula, a frying pan, and an alphabetical menu with food items such as A for apple, J for juice, and O for okra. (We're not sure that most preschoolers will know what okra is. Well, except in the south.) The oven door opens and closes, and the oven can be used for storing all the play pieces.
Why It’s Fun
This cute pretend kitchen features favorite Sesame Street characters and lots of pretend cooking play. Preschoolers will have lots of fun interacting with Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Abby Cadabby as they pretend to cook in their very own kitchen.
Who It’s For
The Cookie Monster Kitchen Café is for ages 18 months to 4 years.
What To Be Aware Of
Two AA batteries are included, but they power the in-store try-me feature. Hasbro recommends replacing them before you play for best results.
Adult assembly is required but no tools are needed. The pieces snap together. It took us 15 minutes to assemble.
After 30 seconds of inactivity, the playset enters sleep mode. To reactivate play mode, feed one of the characters, ring the bell, open or close the sliding windows, or turn the burner on or off.
