What It Is
The Woofer is a dog-shaped guitar that can be played in three modes: acoustic, electric, or howl, which plays dog howls instead of musical notes. This kid-sized guitar features eight musical buttons that play chords: C, B, A, G, F, E, D, and C (an octave, or eight notes, higher than the first C). There are four guitar strings that play chord progressions or pre-recorded songs. The whammy bone (instead of the whammy bar) lets kids add some fun to the music. There are 20 built-in songs (including "Bingo" and "This Old Man"), plus nine Peppy Puppy songs, which are familiar songs with dog-themed lyrics. For example, to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", kids would sing, "Yip, Yap, Arf, Woof, Bow Wow Wow, Wish that dogs just said me-ow." There is a volume knob on the side of the Woofer, and you can press the dog's nose to make the music stop. A lyrics booklet is included so kids can sing along with the music. The Woofer also has a guitar strap.
Why It’s Fun
This kid-sized musical instrument has a lot for kids to do, from strumming strings and pressing buttons to singing along with the music. Preschoolers will love the silliness of howl mode as well as creating their own music and pretending to be rock stars.
Who It’s For
The Woofer is for ages 2–6.
What To Be Aware Of
Three AA batteries are included.
