What It Is
Kids can take on the role of Roadblock from the upcoming G.I. JOE: Retaliation with the Battle-Kata Blaster. It switches from blaster mode to blade mode. Attach the knuckle grip, slide open the chamber, insert a dart, close the chamber, and fire. Three plastic darts are included. For blade mode, detach the knuckle grip and slide it onto the bottom of the blaster. Then pull out the blade. The blade tip is flexible.
Why It’s Fun
This two-in-one toy lets kids play out action from the movie and pretend to be just like Roadblock. It is easy to convert from blaster mode to blade mode. The Battle-Kata Blaster will engage kids in lots of open-ended, imaginative play.

What To Be Aware Of
The movie is rated PG-13 because of violence, so it may not be appropriate for all children even if the violence is very cartoon-like. This is always a challenge with toys based on these types of movies. Collectors and G.I. JOE fans want plenty of non-stop action and insist on at least a PG-13 rating. As always, parents need to determine what’s appropriate for their family and their individual kids. For kids who love G.I. JOE and action figures, though, there’s plenty of play built into these action figures even if the kids don’t see the movie.
