What It Is
The new flight-themed Disney/Pixar Cars Toons short "Air Mater" has inspired Lightning McQueen Hawk, the first in Mattel's new line of Cars Take Flight toys, a new theme for toys for this new classic entertainment property. Kids can convert Lightning McQueen from a car to an airplane. To transform, simply pull open the back fender. Wings, a lightning visor, and plastic projectiles will pop out. Everything easily pops back into place to reset the car. As a car, Lightning McQueen has driving sounds and phrases. Once transformed into a plane, the toy reveals rocket booster lights. Lightning McQueen Hawk features built-in sensors that allow the toy to know how kids are playing with it, responding to kids' movements with sound effects and phrases. For instance, if a child turns Lightning McQueen Hawk to the left, the toy will say, "Bank left!" There are more than 50 phrases and sounds.
Why It’s Fun
Lightning McQueen fans will enjoy recreating scenes from the different Cars movies and cartoon shorts as well as creating all-new "air"-ventures with Lightning McQueen Hawk. This is a cool new way to play with a favorite character that will engage kids in lots of imaginative play.
We like that this builds on the imagination and creativity of Cars, and while kids know that cars don't fly, it's fun to pretend they do, particularly when it gives these characters new powers.
Who It’s For
Lightning McQueen Hawk is for Cars fans ages 4 and up.
