What It Is
What It Is
Capable at traveling at the speed of sound, Sonic the Hedgehog is known for his speed, confident attitude, and readiness for any and all types of adventure. In his storyline, he calls upon all his skills to save the world from Dr. Eggman. Video game fans might remember playing out Sonic's heroic quest through SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Sonic the Hedgehog video game, Jazwares has created a line of collectible figures that showcase the characters as they looked in 1991 and in their modern-day incarnations.
The 1991 and 2011 Sonic the Hedgehog figures (sold separately) represent the changes that the Sonic character has gone through over the years. The 2011 figure is taller and leaner than the 1991 figure, and some of the coloring is different. Each figure can be posed and even features a swiveling waist.
Why It’s Fun
These collectible figures are really geared toward the fans of the original 1991 video game. There is great detailing on both the 1991 and 2011 figures, and the poseability allows fans to recreate Sonic moves from the game. There is playability for kids, but these are really designed more as collector's items than toys.
Who It’s For
The Sonic Through Time Figures are for ages 4 and up, but they will really appeal to adult fans and collectors who might not want to take these great-looking collectible figures out of the box.
What to Be Aware of
The figures do not stand up on their own and don't come with display stands.
