- Repeat Play OR Collectibility — Some toys are played with, some are collected. If we feel a toy is better suited for collectibility, we’ll rank it based on Collectibility instead of Repeat Play.
- Repeat Play — Will kids come back to it over time? Does the toy allow diverse imaginative play experiences? Does it provide longer-term play value?
- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Miniature squishy collectible toys inspired by the capsule toys you find in vending machines have been a huge hit with kids. One of the newest lines is called Ickee Stickeez, and it features squishy and icky-looking monsters. What makes these different, in addition to an "icky" theme, is a suction cup on the bottom of each toy that allows the toys to stick to flat surfaces and make popping noises when pulled off the surface. Each Ickee character comes in a translucent pod, and the pods can be joined together to create all kinds of structures. There are 24 Ickee Stickeez in series one with more than 100 still to be released in series two, three, and four. Ickee Stickeez are available in single packs ($1.25), which come with an Ickee and a pod, and three-packs ($2.99), which include three Ickeez, three pods, and three Koinz. On Ickeez.com, kids can use the info on the Koinz to unlock exclusive content.
Why It’s Fun
Kids will like the suction cup bottoms, the popping sound they make, and the ability to stick their Ickee Stickeez just about anywhere. Building with the attachable pods is also a great feature to this kind of collectible toy, as is the hilarious gross-out factor.
