Our editorial team has more than 100 years combined experience working in the toy industry. Our rating system ranks toys on 4 key criteria:
Over the years we’ve learned a lot about what makes great toys and exciting play experiences. We want to help you create the best experiences for your kids and your family.
Ultimately, you’re the best judge of what you want to bring into your home — and what’s best for your kids. And because you’re an important part of the Time to Play family, we invite you to let us know if you ever find an error or have any ideas how we can better help you. After all, we exist for one reason: to help you have more fun!
The Perplexus spherical puzzle maze has fascinated players as they try to run a small BB-like ball through a complex maze of twists and turns on a tack inside the clear plastic outer sphere. Perplexus Epic is a more challenging version of the original Perplexus puzzle game. Just like in the original version, players must roll the ball to the starting point and then flip, twist, and spin Perplexus Epic to move the ball around the numbered path and the 125 different obstacles to the end.
This is the hardest Perplexus puzzle in the line. New obstacles require a new level of concentration and finesse as you move the Perplexus Epic around and try not to let the ball fall off the track. It's all about finding the right speed, orientation, and balance. A gentle tap, quick jerk, or slight movement may be all you need to stay on track. For those who have mastered the original Perplexus, they'll like the new challenge that Perplexus Epic presents.
Like any good puzzle maze, there's a fairly complex learning curve, and it takes time to master each of the different twists and turns, but that's what keeps this so engrossing.
Perplexus Epic is for ages 8 and up, but we think that because of the difficulty level, it's really more for 10 and up.
We've also seen quite a few adults who haven't wanted to put this down once they get started.
Perplexus Epic takes lots of patience. It's a lot of fun, but it will take a long time to solve this puzzle.
For younger players or those who want an easier puzzle, there is Perplexus Original and Perplexus Rookie.
