- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Alien Conquest is the newest line of themed building sets from LEGO. As the story goes, aliens have invaded the earth, and it's up to earthlings to defend themselves. The Earth Defense HQ set comes with 879 pieces. Kids can build a mini UFO, an interceptor shuttle, a mini rescue vehicle, and a Mobile Launch Station with detachable lab trailer. Turn the knob to angle the shuttle for takeoff, open up the side doors to use the satellites, launch missiles, and much more. Accessories include a cup, stretcher, rubber tires, computer screens, swiveling chairs, assorted weapons, and more. It comes with six minifigures: alien trooper, alien pirate, pilot, two alien defense unit soldiers, a toxic cleanup scientist, and an alien clinger.
Why It’s Fun
The whole alien invasion concept is a familiar story, but it comes to life in a new way with this highly creative collection of models and building sets. In addition to the colorful pieces and creative design, we were really impressed by all the play value built into this—and all the imaginative, narrative-based fun this can inspire.
