What It Is
What It Is
Tactile play, put-and-take play, and object manipulations are important components of play, particularly for developing infants. That's why the classic ball, sized right for small hands, is included in many interactive toys targeted to the youngest kids. The Get Rollin' Activity Table comes with six colorful balls and lots of different ways to use them. The merry-go-round spins the balls. Babies can also send the balls rolling down the ball ramp, and the balls will end up coming out of one of the four table legs. There are also other play areas on the table, including a peek-a-boo alligator, a caterpillar piano, an electronic book with a page that babies can flip back and forth, number buttons to press, a fish bead spinner, and turtle gears to spin. Babies can play in Play Mode, where they will hear music and fun sounds, or Learning Mode, where they will hear letters, numbers, and colors. Simply flip the book page to change modes. There are 60 different activities and songs. The Get Rollin' Activity Table also has English and Spanish phrases.
Why It’s Fun
All the different play in the Get Rollin' Activity Table introduces children to basic early learning skills, such as shapes, colors, and numbers. The ball play and other tactile play help children develop fine motor skills. With eight play areas and 60 activities and songs, this activity table has a lot to keep infants and toddlers having fun.
Who It’s For
The Get Rollin' Activity Table is for ages 6—36 months.
What to Be Aware of
The table legs are detachable for floor play.
One of the key things for parents and caregivers to remember about this mode of play is that even though it looks repetitive, each time a child places the ball, he or she is making new connections about cause and effect and the beginnings of understanding their role in making things happen.
The Get Rollin' Activity Table comes with three AA batteries.
