What It Is
What It Is
The Learn Through Music Touchpad is an updated version of Fisher-Price's original Learn Through Music system. The touchpad has an all-new sleek and portable design with a touchscreen interface. The screen is 30 percent larger than the original, and the 42 touchpoints are specially designed for little fingers. There are five app buttons on the screen: Home Page, Music, Question, Secret Spot, and Game. The left and right buttons are for scrolling back and forth between the apps. Kids can also advance through the app screens by swiping a finger across the touchscreen's surface, similar to many smartphones and tablets. The Learn Through Music Touchpad comes with a microphone for sing-a-long fun, a headphone jack, one learning cartridge, and a carry handle.
Why It’s Fun
The Learn Through Music Touchpad bears a slight resemblance to an iPad or other tablet device that mom or dad may own. Young children, who always want to have the same gadgets as their parents and older siblings, will love having their very own tablet to play with just like mom and dad. The Learn Through Music Touchpad is designed to introduce preschoolers to fundamental skills through rhyme, repetition, rhythm, and music. This play exposes kids to learning concepts, including following patterns, detecting sequences, phonics, colors, and numbers.
Who It’s For
The Learn Through Music Touchpad is for ages 2 and up.
What to Be Aware of
The Learn Through Music Touchpad is kind of heavy for a 2-year-old.
The cartridges are a little bigger than you might be used to, so make sure you have enough room to store them all as you build your cartridge library. There are six additional learning cartridges, each sold separately, that retail for about $19.99.
Four AA batteries are included.
