We look at more than 10,000 new toys and children’s products every year, and our primary purpose is to help you make the best choices for the kids in your life.
Our goal is to give you the real story on what you’ll find when you bring a toy home. And we know that every kid and every family is different. That’s why we always say: “The hot toy is only hot if it’s hot for your child.”
Our editorial team has more than 100 years combined experience working in the toy industry. Our rating system ranks toys on 4 key criteria:
Over the years we’ve learned a lot about what makes great toys and exciting play experiences. We want to help you create the best experiences for your kids and your family.
Ultimately, you’re the best judge of what you want to bring into your home — and what’s best for your kids. And because you’re an important part of the Time to Play family, we invite you to let us know if you ever find an error or have any ideas how we can better help you. After all, we exist for one reason: to help you have more fun!
Last year Mickey Mouse was dancing to beat the band. This year, he's the frontman for the band. Rock Star Mickey is the latest feature toy from Fisher-Price starring Disney's classic character. Rock Star Mickey has two modes of play. Press Mickey's nose, and he'll demonstrate for kids all the classic rock star moves. Then, press his foot, and he puts it all together playing his own version of the classic rock song "You Really Got Me" by The Kinks. Mickey even does his signature move, the Mickety-split, and plays the guitar with his nose.
Rock Star Mickey encourages kids to get up and dance. This interactive toy will have kids moving and pretending to be rock stars right along with Mickey. It's also hilarious to watch him go through his paces.
Rock Star Mickey is for ages 2 and up. We think that the younger kids are the ones who will get up and dance with Mickey, as Fisher-Price recommends. Older kids—and some adults—will get a kick watching him go through his paces.
Rock Star Mickey requires four AA batteries, which are included, but they are for demo purposes only. Fisher-Price recommends replacing the batteries for best results. Rock Star Mickey has an auto shut-off to preserve battery life.
For best performance, use Rock Star Mickey on a hard, flat surface.
The toy is a little on the loud side so kids shouldn't keep their ears too close to the toy for too long.
