What It Is
Mario Kart Wii has been one of the most popular video game titles for the Wii console. Now the crazy racing fun from the video game comes to life in a new collection of building sets from K'NEX. The Mario vs. Goombas Building Set has 119 pieces that let kids build Mario, a standard kart with battery-operated motor, a swinging Goombas obstacle, and two collectible items from the game: a mushroom and a star. There are six pieces of buildable, interconnectable track that can be combined with other Mario Kart Wii sets to build bigger tracks.
Why It’s Fun
Can you help Mario make it past the swinging Goombas? He doesn't always make it through, but that's part of the play. Mario has to go through different obstacles, and kids get to build the track and help Mario win the race. This is a great way for young Nintendo fans to feel like they're part of the racing excitement.
Who It’s For
The Mario vs. Goombas Building Set is for ages 6 and up.
What to Be Aware of
Picture illustrations show you how to put everything together. Kids may get frustrated, as we did, trying to put it all together with just pictures. This is more about playing with the car than construction play.
This set requires two AAA batteries, which are not included.
To make a complete circuit, there are three sets in all that work together. Each of the sets is sold separately.
