What It Is
Hasbro has reinvented the classic Connect 4 game with the new Connect 4 Launchers. This brings the four-in-a-row play to literally a new level—instead of dropping the checkers into the game board, players launch the checkers and try to land on the bottom tray or the top tray. One player takes the red checkers and launcher and the other player takes the yellow checkers and launcher. Place the game on a flat surface between players. Players can launch from anywhere on their side of the game. There are three ways to play. In Basic Frantic Launch, players launch their checkers at the same time, trying to be the first to get four-in-a-row on either the top or bottom tray. In Championship Frantic Launch, players try to be the first to score at least five points. You earn one point if your checker lands on the bottom tray and two points for the top tray. Advanced Power Launch uses special Power Checkers that change up gameplay, such as letting a player launch another checker right away or removing all checkers in the same row as the Power Checker. In Advanced Power Launch, the object is to be the first player with at least three points.
Connect 4 Launchers comes with instructions, 21 red checkers, 21 yellow checkers, four pillar pieces, two clear grid trays, one red launcher, and one yellow launcher. It is for two or more players.
Why It’s Fun
Connect 4 Launchers adds a new level of strategy to the classic game of Connect 4. You have to block your opponent and place your checkers in just the right spots, and, at the same time, you've also got to be able launch the checkers where you want them to go. The three different games make Connect 4 Launchers fun for all ages. Younger players can start out simple with the Basic Frantic Launch game, while older kids, adults, and more experienced launchers can try the Championship Frantic Launch and the Advanced Power Launch. Kids will like the head-to-head launching excitement of this game.
