What It Is
What It Is
The latest interactive educational toy for young kids from LeapFrog is My Own Storytime Pad. This resembles an iPad or other tablet device that mom or dad may own and that kids want to play with. But instead of a two-year-old playing with an iPad, the My Own Storytime Pad offers kids a tablet experience in an age-appropriate way.
The main feature is stories. Kids can hear a story read out loud to them and watch animation that pertains to the story. My Own Storytime Pad comes with one built-in story, but more can be added when you connect the pad to a Mac or PC with the included USB cable. After downloading and installing software from the LeapFrog website, parents can personalize the pad with their child's name and upload stories, songs, and even personalized emails for the child to open and read on the pad.
Other activities on the pad include a music feature, an alphabet game, and interactive character buttons.
Why It’s Fun
With the My Own Storytime Pad, young kids can feel just like mom or dad with their very own tablet device. It is easy for kids to use, and they will enjoy the different activities and personalized content. Parents will like that the content is educational but presented to kids in a fun way.
Who It’s For
My Own Storytime Pad is for kids 2—4.
What to Be Aware of
My Own Storytime Pad comes with three AA batteries, but these are for in-store demo purposes, so LeapFrog recommends replacing them before you play.
