Jakks Pacific's Real Construction foam wood has proven extremely popular as a roleplay toy for would-be carpenters who might not be ready for real wood and woodworking tools. Adding to this successful line is a new line of sets that expand on the building concept with new ways to play. One of these sets is the Real Construction Nail Gun. It comes with 100 Real Construction, plastic nails that are easy to load into the Nail Gun. By pushing the plunger, kids can nail the Kid Wood foam wood pieces together. No batteries are needed. Other Kid Wood pieces and accessories are sold separately.
Parents probably wouldn't give their 6 year old a real nail gun, but the Real Construction Nail Gun is safe for little carpenters. This gives kids a real play experience of working with a nail gun. It's great grown-up roleplay—little kids will feel like they are big carpenters. It inspires kids to build and create.
As with all the Real Construction items, for a little one, it really feels like working with wood, so they can feel "big" when they play.
The Real Construction Nail Gun is for ages 5 and up.
Kid Wood is a durable foam material that looks, saws, nails, and builds just like real wood. It's sold separately.
The Nail Gun only works when it is positioned correctly to nail, so there's no chance that kids can misfire—or use it as a weapon.
We found that the nails also work on corrugated cardboard, such as cartons, so kids do not necessarily need the Real Construction wood, though that is really excellent and very worth the money.
