What It Is
LEGO continues to add to its line of build-and-play games with the new LEGO Heroica: Castle Fortaan. With this game, LEGO enters into a new category of gaming—adventure games. Heroica is a battle between Heroes and Monsters as the heroes try to defeat the monsters and complete missions. Throughout the game players gain and lose health; use potions to enhance their life, luck, speed or strength; and collect weapons and gold to aid in the quest. There are also a variety of challenges to face that can cause players to leap ahead or lose a turn. There are multiple ways to build the board with the included 304 pieces. The game also comes with one buildable LEGO die, building instruction booklet, rules booklet, and mission map. Castle Fortaan is for two to four players.

Players of video games and collectible trading card games will find the game play of Castle Fortaan familiar. Gamers who know and love adventure games will like playing this game, but Castle Fortaan is also a great platform for play and imagination with an appropriate level of complexity for kids.
