- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Count Your Chickens! is a new cooperative game from Peaceable Kingdom. A cooperative game means that everyone plays together as a team against a common obstacle and not against each other.
In this game, the chicks have flown the coop. Players must work together to collect the chick's and bring them back. On each turn, a player spins the spinner and moves Mother Hen to the next space on the path that matches the picture on the spinner. Count aloud the number of spaces Mother Hen moves, then collect that number of chicks from anywhere on the game board and put them in the coop. If the spinner lands on the fox, the player must take one chick out of the coop and put it back on the farm. When Mother Hen reaches the last space on the board, the game is over. If all the chicks are in the coop, everybody wins.
The game comes with a game board, a Mother Hen with stand, 40 chick pieces, and a spinner. The game is for two to four players and takes about 15 minutes to play.
Why It’s Fun
This is a great spin-and-move counting game, especially for first-time game players. It introduces young kids to counting, taking turns, following directions, and cooperation. The gameplay is simple and easy for kids to learn. Kids will have a lot fun saving and counting the chicks.
Who It’s For
Count Your Chickens! is for ages 3 and up. The game is great for younger players because there is no reading required.
What to Be Aware of
All plastic parts are made using recycled plastic and are phthalate- and BPA-free. All paper parts and the board are made with Forest Stewardship Council papers, which means they come from ecologically responsible-managed forests, and printed with soy-based inks.
This is a game for younger players especially. Older players tend to be more attracted to games where there is a clear winner and some level of competition to define the play.
