- Repeat Play OR Collectibility — Some toys are played with, some are collected. If we feel a toy is better suited for collectibility, we’ll rank it based on Collectibility instead of Repeat Play.
- Repeat Play — Will kids come back to it over time? Does the toy allow diverse imaginative play experiences? Does it provide longer-term play value?
- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Hasbro's new KRE-O brand provides builders ages 6 and up with the opportunity to experience Transformers in a new way—construction. Each KRE-O Transformers set features two types of builds: a robot or a vehicle. The bricks and pieces of the KRE-O sets are compatible with other leading brick brands.
KRE-O Transformers Megatron is a 310-piece set that comes with four KREONS (mini figures): Megatron, Shockwave, Specialist, and Police Officer. With this building set, kids can build a truck or the robot Megatron. In vehicle mode, two of the KREONS can ride inside the cab of the truck. There are lots of moving parts in both vehicle and robot mode. Other sets include Optimus Prime, Starscream, and Sentinel Prime.
Why It’s Fun
KRE-O Transformers Megatron is great for kids who are both building fans—and Transformers fans. Since this is the first time that the Transformers brand has appeared in this kind of configuration, there's a certain level of novelty to this as well. Kids will like building Megatron (either in vehicle or robot mode) themselves and creating their own Transformers adventures. The moving parts allow kids to have more realistic action play.
Who It’s For
KRE-O Transformers Megatron is for Transformers fans ages 8—14. However, older building and Transformers fans are likely to want these as collectibles.
What to Be Aware of
KRE-O Transformers Megatron doesn't convert from car to robot. You can build one or the other using the 310 pieces.
Building the truck is a level 4 out of 5 on the difficulty scale, and building the robot is a level 5 out of 5. It may take kids some time to build the vehicle and the robot. Sort blocks by color and size to make them easier to find. Build on a large, flat surface. And remember, building is part of the fun.
