- Fun — Does it engage the child? Does it inspire imaginative play? Does it contribute to creative expression? Is it entertaining?
- Repeat Play OR Collectibility — Some toys are played with, some are collected. If we feel a toy is better suited for collectibility, we’ll rank it based on Collectibility instead of Repeat Play.
- Repeat Play — Will kids come back to it over time? Does the toy allow diverse imaginative play experiences? Does it provide longer-term play value?
- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Summer Infant's Slumber Buddies are designed to help soothe young children to sleep through the use of lights, sound, and music. There are two Slumber Buddies characters—frog and butterfly. Each one plays four lullabies, two nature sounds, and white noise. The sounds will play for 30 minutes before automatically shutting off. Each also has a soothing nightlight that projects a starry sky onto bedroom walls and ceiling. There are three different nightlight colors—red, green, and blue. The nightlight display shuts off automatically after 30 minutes. Parents can also turn off the sounds and nightlight manually.
Why It’s Fun
This isn't so much fun as it is soothing and calming for young children. It's great for helping babies sleep at night, but even older children who are afraid of the dark will like having one of the cute Slumber Buddies lighting up their room and playing soothing sounds.

Slumber Buddies are for ages birth and up.
What to Be Aware of
Never place Slumber Buddies in a crib with a baby for safety reasons. Do not leave an infant unattended with Slumber Buddies within reach from the crib.
Slumber Buddies come with three AAA batteries. Some adult assembly is required.
