What It Is
Some people have their business MBA degrees, but now you can get your LEGO MBA. MBA stands for "Master Builder Academy," and this series of kits is designed to teach new building skills and help kids become Master Builders, just like the professionals who work for LEGO. LEGO Master Builders are the experts who design all the LEGO kits and models, as well as LEGO brick sculptures and displays for LEGOLAND parks and stores and for special events.
There are six building sets total in the LEGO MBA program. The first kit is the Level One Space Designer Kit. The kit retails for about $29.99. It comes with an 84-page handbook with directions on how to build three spaceship models, a LEGO brick separator tool, 178 brick pieces, and a collectible Level One mini figure. There is even special LEGO brick paper so kids can sketch their own design concepts like the pros.
If you like the Space Designer Kit, the other LEGO MBA kits can be purchased as part of a subscription. For $69.99, LEGO will send you kits 2—6. You'll get a new kit every two months. Each kit features different themes and new building techniques designed to progress your building prowess all the way up to Level Six, the final LEGO MBA level. Each kit also includes an 84-page handbook with directions and exclusive mini figures and accessories.
At LEGOMBA.com, builders can upload pictures of their creations, participate in challenges, find inspiration, and get rewards.
Why It’s Fun
Kids who are passionate about building with LEGO and wish they could put together those giant LEGO brick sculptures you see at public events will like the LEGO MBA program. Through official tips and tricks from professional Master Builders, kids will learn how to build with LEGO bricks in new ways. Not only will they build with the sets provided in the program, but they can also use the LEGO bricks they already own and build in new ways with those, creating models they see on the website or models of their very own design.
Who It’s For
LEGO MBA is for the older LEGO builder, between 8 and 12. However, there will be some teen and adult fans who want to take their passion for building to the next level with this program.
What to Be Aware of
This is definitely for the hardcore LEGO fan. As we said, older kids and adults who are really into LEGO will get the most out of this program.
