At TimetoPlayMag.com, we want to engage, inform and entertain our readers to give them the benefit of our knowledge, experience and the breadth of products we cover. We look at more than 10,000 new toys and children’s products every year, and our primary purpose is to help you make the best choices for the kids in your life.
Our goal is to give you the real story on what you’ll find when you bring a toy home. And we know that every kid and every family is different. That’s why we always say: “The hot toy is only hot if it’s hot for your child.”
Our editorial team has more than 100 years combined experience working in the toy industry. Our rating system ranks toys on 4 key criteria:
Over the years we’ve learned a lot about what makes great toys and exciting play experiences. We want to help you create the best experiences for your kids and your family.
Ultimately, you’re the best judge of what you want to bring into your home — and what’s best for your kids. And because you’re an important part of the Time to Play family, we invite you to let us know if you ever find an error or have any ideas how we can better help you. After all, we exist for one reason: to help you have more fun!
The Interactive World Map is part of LeapFrog's Tag reading system. With this double-sided map, kids touch their Tag Readers (sold separately) to points on the map to activate audio and more than 30 geography-based activities. One side is the Physical Map where kids can play games, explore different countries and cultures (And find out how to say "hello" in other languages.) and be introduced to map basics. On the Political Map side, kids go on a treasure hunt to locate the "mystery country." They can also take timed quizzes to test their knowledge of the world's countries.
Parents can follow their child's play and learning progress online on the LeapFrog Learning Path by connecting the Tag Reader to a computer and logging on. Kids can also play online in LeapWorld, a safe site with more games and rewards to expand the fun.
Kids are naturally fascinated by the world. Many parents and grandparents will remember playing with puzzles and other map games. LeapFrog has taken this classic play pattern a quantum leap forward with the addition of electronics and deeper content. Most of all, these maps are a fun and engaging way to introduce kids to reading maps and understanding where places are, both in our own country and beyond.
The Tag Interactive World Map is for ages 4—8.
The Tag Reader is sold separately. To use the map with the Tag Reader, you must download audio from the LeapFrog Connect Application online. The map comes with directions on how to do this. If you want your child to be able to play with this map right out of the box, you might want to already have the Tag Reader purchased and set up prior to giving it to the child.
