What It Is
The Glow in the Dark Hexbug Nano Habitat Set is a new customizable playground for the Nano robotic bugs to play in day or night. Just turn off the lights and the set glows so kids can watch the Nanos crawl around and flip over in the dark.
The set comes with 10 easy-to-connect pieces and two extremely rare Hexbug Nanos. Kids can use their other Hexbug Nano bugs in this set, as well. Additional track pieces can be purchased and added onto the set so kids can create their own unique micro-robotic community. There are also glow-in-the-dark Hexbug Nanos that are sold separately.
Why It’s Fun
This is a cool new way for kids to play with their Hexbugs. The Glow in the Dark Habitat Set allows for all the same Nano movement and play patterns as other Hexbug sets, but by letting kids play in the dark, it opens up a whole new level of fun.
The programming of the Hexbugs is a lot more sophisticated than other electronic bugs on the market in that they really seem to behave like bugs, which makes it fascinating to set up courses for them and watch them run around.
Who It’s For
The suggested age is 3 and up, but we think older kids are going to get more out of this set.
What to Be Aware of
The Habitat Set does not require any batteries, however, the Hexbug Nanos do require an AG13 battery. Batteries are included.
We found that with constant running over a couple of hours, the bugs tend to lose a little power. Turn them off for a few minutes and they'll recover.
