- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

What It Is
Zhu Zhu Pets aren't just about hamsters. The latest in the "Zhu-niverse," as the manufacturer calls it, are Zhu Zhu Puppies. These interactive puppies work just like the Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters. There are six puppies in the line, each sold separately, and a plethora of other items to make the Zhu Zhu Puppies world complete. Kids can dress up the puppies in cute outfits, "drive" them around in different vehicles, carry them in stylish puppy carriers, and watch the puppies explore in a variety of playsets.
One of the playsets in this line is the Posh Puppy Playhouse. This cute house comes with fun accessories (such as a couch, though the puppies can't actually sit on it) and the ability to connect to the other two playsets in the line or to any Zhu Zhu playset. All Zhu Zhu Puppies products are sold separately.
Why It’s Fun
Kids really liked the Zhu Zhu hamsters, so it only makes sense to expand that world to include another favorite pet—puppies. By connecting all the playsets, kids can build a Zhu Zhu world for the puppies. (You could even let the Zhu Zhu hamsters play around in the playsets.) For kids who don't have pets, Zhu Zhu Puppies is a fun alternative and allows kids to imagine their pet in a whole new world, without confusing or disgruntling a live pet.
Who It’s For
Zhu Zhu Puppies will appeal most to girls ages 4 and up; the accessories are mostly about dress-up, which is a very girl play pattern. Whether they're already Zhu Zhu fans or are new to the toys, the Posh Puppy Playhouse is a colorful, fun and self-contained playset.
What to Be Aware of
Adult supervision and assistance may be required for assembly of the Posh Puppy Playhouse, which takes a little bit of patience, and the other playsets in the line.
