What It Is
The Expedition Two hiking stick is more than just a toy for pretend play. This is a functional walking stick for outdoor hikes. Though it's not made of wood, the Expedition Two has a hand-carved, authentic wooden look to it with either a snake or wolf head on top.
On the top of the stick is a thumb rest for a comfortable grip. The stick helps kids keep a steady foot on the trail and can be used to poke and prod through hard-to-reach places. An included Pop-Up Field Guide gives information on different ways to use the stick on a hike. Kids will also receive a collectible embroidered iron-on patch.
Why It’s Fun
This is more than just a toy; it's a functional tool that has all the design and practicality that go into real walking sticks. It's well made and can hopefully encourage kids to be active and explore the outdoors. The Pop-Up Field guide helps curious kids learn about hiking and the outdoors.
Who It’s For
Outdoorsy kids are going to think this hiking stick is really cool because they probably already find hiking really cool. That said, the cool look and feel of the Expedition Two might get other kids off the couch and into the great outdoors. The stick is recommended for ages 5 and up.
What to Be Aware of
The Expedition Two hiking stick may give kids the stability they need for hiking on rough terrain, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are ready for hiking on their own. Adult supervision (and participation) is recommended when kids go out on hikes beyond the backyard.
