- Collectibility — Some toys may have limited traditional play, but kids will treasure them as collectibles.
- Assembly/Instructions — Is the toy easy to assemble? Are the instructions clear?

Thomas is about eight inches long, and the controller is sized so it's easy to grip by even the smallest hands. It's also easy to switch between play modes. A decent amount of open floor space is required so Thomas has room to maneuver. (He can get hung up on a wall, for instance, if he doesn't have enough of a turning radius and need a helping hand to set him on track again.) The train also includes sound effects and favorite Thomas phrases. This is a creative toy that will please any Thomas fan. For the very youngest children, parents will want to be involved in the play so that kids get the most out of it. They'll soon learn how to run it and want to take over being the engineer.
