The Time to Play team is thrilled to announce Time to Play Live!, the new virtual game show where players answer toy and children’s entertainment trivia to win fun prizes!

The show will take place via Twitter every Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST / 10 a.m. PST using the #TimeToPlayLive hashtag.

Hosts @JimSilver and @TheToyGuy will provide tips, clues and fun chatter throughout the show. All questions and winner declaration will be provided by @TimetoPlay. So, please make sure you’re following all three tweeps!

Rules

• Players must include the following hashtag in all tweets to participate: #TimeToPlayLive
• Each game will feature three categories with three questions each, plus a Final Play bonus round:
• 1. Letter Play – similar to hangman, players must fill in the missing letters of a toy, character or children’s entertainment word or name. Asterisks (*) denote a space between words, e.g., T_me*t_*P_ay (Time to Play).
  2. Web Play – using existing knowledge or the internet players must answer a toy industry or TimetoPlayMag.com related question.
  3. Name Play – several clues will be provided and players must guess the identity of the toy or children’s character.
  4. Final Play/Common Thread – we will provide a series of short clues that all have something in common. Using existing knowledge or the internet, players must identify what ’common thread’ ties these clues together.
• First correct response to each question wins.
• • All answers must be spelled correctly to qualify to win. However, capitalization is not a factor.
  • Tweets will often come in at different speeds depending on the Twitter client you are using. If there is any discrepancy when choosing a winner, Time to Play uses the order that appears on TimeToPlayLive.com for final judgment of which correct answer came first.
  • Decisions of the judges are final
• Players may only win one prize during the first nine questions
• All players are eligible for the Final Play question
• If a participant wins two prizes in the same week or prizes two consecutive weeks, he/she is not eligible for a prize the following week.
• To redeem their prize, winners must direct message @TimetoPlay with their Twitter name, legal name and shipping address.

This Week’s Prizes

We realize you might have a boy who’d rather win a Bakugan Dragonoid than a Barbie, or a girl who’d rather win the Barbie than a Ben 10 Alien Force Creation Transporter. Since you can only win once during the first nine questions of the show, we thought we’d give you a heads up as to what we are giving away. That way, you can choose not to go for certain prizes if there is something else you think your child (or yourself!) would enjoy more later in the show! Final Play is open to everyone, even those who have already won!
