What It Is
The Dry Erase Tangrams Activity Book from Mead is an activity book that uses seven basic geometric shapes to help kids practice math concepts. The shapes include a square, different types of triangles, and a parallelogram. Each shape features a rubber texture to stick to the dry erase paper within the activity book. The activities are simple—arrange the tangrams to cover each outlined design. Designs range in difficulty; Some pages feature scenes, while others feature only the outline of basic shapes. Some pages prompt kids to use the dry erase marker to trace the correct shape, while others ask kids to fill-in information about the shapes, such as "How many sides does a square have?" Kids can free hand or use the tangrams to trace the shapes.
Why It’s Fun
The rubber texture of the shapes makes them easy for kids to work with and because they also stick to the pages, clean-up and storage are done in a snap. This is a fun take-along activity for kids who are just starting to learn and understand basic spatial reasoning, logic, and math skills, such as geometry.
