What It Is
Kids can race Dusty Crophopper like in the movie Planes with the Disney Planes Action Shifters Flight to the Finish Speedway. This playset includes a Supercharged Dusty Crophopper die-cast airplane and a joystick to control the flight of the plane around the track. Connect Dusty to a track roller and then attach the track roller to the track. For practice, slide the button on the side of the playset to the locked position. Shift the joystick back all the way to launch the plane, and then practice flying the plane through the track. When you can complete several laps without stopping, you're ready for the Pursuit Challenge. For the Pursuit Challenge, you'll need two planes. Connect the planes and rollers to the track, and make sure the button is in the open position. Move the first plane to the top of the spiral and hold it there for a staggered start. Let go of the first plane, and launch the second plane to begin the challenge. When the track opens, the winner hits the finish line, and the loser hits the outhouse. Additional Action Shifters planes and playsets are sold separately.
Why It’s Fun
For kids who loved Planes, this is a fun way for them to recreate races from the movie or imagine all-new racing adventures with Dusty. Timing and skill are required to keep the plane "flying" around the track. There is a learning curve, and it will take practice to get it right, especially when flying two planes at once.
Who It’s For
The Disney Planes Action Shifters Flight to the Finish Speedway is for Planes fans ages 4 and up.
What To Be Aware Of
Assembly is required, and it took us 14 minutes to put this set together. The instructions were easy to follow.
If during the Pursuit Challenge the planes crash together before the track opens, restart the challenge with a staggered start.
You need to buy at least one additional plane in order to play the Pursuit Challenge. However, the set includes the second track roller.
