What It Is
Crayola's My First Crayola line gives toddlers art tools and supplies designed just for them. Each My First Crayola Washable Markers pack comes with two markers that are shaped like different animal characters, such as a red bear (red marker) and blue elephant (blue marker). Just remove the bottom lid to reveal the marker tip and let kids color. The markers have a chunky design to make it easier for toddlers to grasp. The marker fits in a child's palm and when they fold their fingers around the marker, they are ready to color and draw. (This is what Crayola calls Stage 1: Palm Grip.)
Why It’s Fun
The My First Crayola Washable Markers offer an easy and rewarding way for toddlers to get creative. Young kids will like having their very own art tools to create works of art just like the big kids. As toddlers get older, they'll want to graduate to traditional markers because they'll have more developed fine motor skills. However, the My First Crayola Washable Markers are a great way to get budding artists started.
Who It’s For
My First Crayola Washable Markers are for ages 12 months and up. However, this is going to be most appealing to kids at the younger age of the spectrum who have not yet developed the fine motor skills required to hold and use traditional markers.
What To Be Aware Of
Crayola has indicated the stage of development that the My First Crayola products are most appropriate for right on the packages so you can make a choice based on your child's current skills.
The markers only work when held upright. They will not mark when held at an angle.
The markers may stain certain surfaces, such as walls, wood, and carpeting. If the markers get on clothing, place the clothing in the laundry and follow the washing instructions on the markers packaging.
