What It Is
What It Is
Hasbro's new KRE-O brand provides builders ages 6 and up with the opportunity to experience Transformers in a new way—construction. Each KRE-O Transformers set features two types of builds: a robot or a vehicle. The bricks and pieces of the KRE-O sets are compatible with other leading brick brands.
KRE-O Transformers Bumblebee is a 75-piece building set that lets kids build Bumblebee either as a robot or as a sports car. (The only way to "transform" the model is to rebuild it.) There are many moving pieces integrated into the model, so kids can put Bumblebee in different poses. Other sets include Optimus Prime and Mirage.
Why It’s Fun
KRE-O Transformers Bumblebee is great for kids who are both building fans—and Transformers fans. Since this is the first time that the Transformers brand has appeared in this kind of configuration, there's a certain level of novelty to this as well. Kids will like building Bumblebee (either in vehicle or robot mode) themselves and creating their own Transformers adventures.
Who It’s For
KRE-O Transformers Bumblebee is for Transformers fans ages 6—12. However, older building and Transformers fans are likely to want these as collectibles.
What to Be Aware of
As noted above, once built, the KRE-O Transformers Bumblebee doesn't convert from car to robot. You can build one or the other using the 75 pieces.
This is a level 2 out of 5 on the difficulty ranking, which means it's pretty easy for kids to put together.
