What It IsWhen it was first introduced in 2001, Bionicle transformed the boys' construction category by creating a specific narrative and collectible, buildable figures. It was, and continues to be a phenomenon that combines rich narrative with creative toys and plenty of open-ended play. With enough detail to keep kids engaged and enough conflict to power boys' imaginations, in 2009 the line goes to new heights. In addition to toys, a new movie is slated for fall, and LEGO is launching a wide variety of figures-both good guys and bad guys-to inspire engaging play.
The new models are easy to build and have been redesigned to appeal to younger players. They still include the cool packaging, and play features. The lines include the Agori and the Galtorians, as well as the massive warrior (and biggest product in the toy line), Tuma.
