What It Is
There's something new about LeapFrog's popular LeapPad2 Explorer. As the LeapPad2 Power, the tablet now includes a recharger pack, eliminating the need to run the tablet on AA batteries. (The recharger pack used to be sold separately.) Just insert the rechargeable batteries, and whenever you need to recharge the tablet, plug it into the included AC adapter. It takes about four hours to get a full charge, and that gives you nine hours of play.
In terms of content and technical specs, this is pretty much the same as the LeapPad2 Explorer. The LeapPad Power, available in either pink or green, includes front and back cameras and video recorders, 4GB of memory, a USB cable, a motion sensor, and a built-in microphone. You can set up to three user profiles and customize them to each child's grade level. Plus, the LeapPad Power is compatible with LeapFrog's library of more than 800 games, apps, cartridges, and more.
The LeapPad2 Power comes with several apps, including Pet Pad, Art Studio, a music player with five built-in songs, Photo Lab, an e-reader, a calculator, a calendar, a note pad, and a clock. When you install LeapFrog Connect on your computer and register the tablet by connecting it to your computer, you'll receive one free game app of your choice.
Why It’s Fun
We like that LeapFrog has added the recharger pack to this popular tablet for kids. It adds more value to the device and delivers long-lasting gameplay. Just like the original LeapPad2, this tablet features great LeapFrog play that remembers and adjusts to each child's individual progress, engaging kids in fun ways to build skills in reading, math, science, vocabulary, and more. And it still lets young kids have their own tablet device, just like Mom and Dad.
Who It’s For
The LeapPad2 Power is for ages 3–9.
