When I think of Valentine’s Day gifts, the first thing I think of is a “Dozen Red Roses”. It’s the gift you can’t go wrong with. After a few years of giving my wife roses, I tried going the candy route. While this was greatly appreciated, I also received the feedback “not to do this again since I eat all of it.” So, it was back to roses! However, I had three daughters, so I felt they shouldn’t be ignored on this holiday. What to do for three young girls?
Flowers didn’t make sense, as they didn’t appreciate the beauty of flowers as much as my wife. Chocolates were also a big hit with my kids, but they were also a hit with our dentist. The gift that kept giving! There had to be an alternative!
Stuffed animals. That was the answer. Young girls never seemed to have enough stuffed animals. Now there’s actually a plethora of valentine stuffed animals to choose from, and you really can’t go wrong with whatever you pick. Over the last few years, toy companies have expanded from stuffed animals into other categories such as Valentine’s Day Barbie’s.
We’ve picked out some of our favorite Valentine’s Day toys for you in case you want to celebrate with your kids going this route. You will also notice, as I have, people generally don’t buy Valentine's Day gifts for boys (outside of candy), nor is there really a choice. I can’t explain it except that's the culture we live in.
