What It Is
A little dog named Peewee arrives at the circus in a teeny tiny little box. Everyone in the circus loves Peewee, even though he can't do any circus tricks. One day, Peewee begins to grow and grow until he becomes the size of a normal dog. The circus man decides to sell him because he is "ordinary." But then an amazing thing happens – he begins to grow again, getting bigger and bigger. The circus man decides to keep Peewee and even makes him the show's star attraction!
Why It’s Fun
This is a re-release of a classic children's book first published in 1934 and written by the author of Pat the Bunny. The illustrations are done primarily in yellow, red and black, making it a very engaging picture book. The story is sweet, but the author does not use much punctuation, so if you are averse to run-on sentences, as many of us are, it might take some getting used to. Nonetheless, it is a classic for a reason – kids loved it 80 years ago and probably will today.
Who It’s For
The publisher's recommended age range is three to seven-years-old, but even younger tots will enjoy the unique illustrations.
What To Be Aware Of
The book is only available in hardcover, but the high quality of this edition makes it a special purchase or gift.
