What It Is
This rhyming story helps to teach kids about counting, through five small bees who are in search of yummy pie. They land on a cherry pie and are shooed away by the farmer’s wife. One bee decides to stay home and then four land on the next type of pie. And so on ...
Why It’s Fun
Little ones will love to shout along each time a bee is shooed away, because of the cute sing-song verse. The author’s repetitive verse will have even the littlest ones “reading aloud” along with mom or dad. The book’s illustrations are very vibrant, if not a bit “busy,” but will definitely hold a child’s attention beginning at toddlerhood. Featured parent tips throughout the book help adults teach tots word and number skills such as tracing numbers and tapping out syllables for basic words.
Who It’s For
This selection is great for toddlers and preschoolers at home or in the classroom.
What To Be Aware Of
The only catch is that The Five Minibees published independently and may not be available at libraries, but it’s got such strong read-again potential that it’s worth the $15 hardcover price. Look for it on Amazon.
