What It Is
Santa Claus has the post-holiday blues. With the toys all made, presents handed out, and Christmas cookies eaten, Santa is miserable. Everyone at the North Pole tries to cheer him up. His reindeer tell Santa that they broke a record by visiting 196 countries in 8 hours, but that doesn’t work. Even Mrs. Claus can’t lift his spirits. But, a little Christmas magic comes his way, thanks to a letter from a little boy and Santa feels like his jolly old self in no time!
Why It’s Fun
On December 26th Santa Claus becomes a memory for millions of children around the world. Do any of us ever wonder how that makes Santa feel? Probably not. Author-illustrator Tad Carpenter creatively explores this topic with a unique style. Mr. Carpenter uses just four colors in his illustrations and the book is printed on kraft paper, giving it a feeling of an irreverent Shoebox greeting card. (This is no accident because the author has worked for Hallmark.)
Who It’s For
This fun story is great for any age, but the publisher points out the sweet spot is 4 to 7.
What To Be Aware Of
It’s available only in hardcover, but the graphic style and premium paper give the reader such a unique experience, it’s well deserving of the $14.95 price.
