Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction

The Ultimate Game for the Ultimate Ben 10 Fan

What It Is

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction is based on the most recent season of the hugely popular Ben 10 series on Cartoon Network. Players take on the role of Ben Tennyson, who has the ability to transform into a bunch of different aliens thanks to Ben’s Ultimatrix—an alien, DNA-manipulating watch-like contraption that Ben has on his wrist.

Why It’s Fun

Ben can transform into any one of 17 different aliens at any point in the game. The player will have to figure out which alien is best suited to get through levels that are filled with physical obstacles, attacking enemies and brain-teasing puzzles. Each alien has its own unique talents and abilities, so players will enjoy trying them all and figuring out which aliens are their favorites.

Like the animated series, Ben has the power to evolve his alien forms into bigger and stronger versions, called “ultimate forms”. In the game the transformation is achieved by gaining experience through playing as each alien.

This is an action game, and it lives up to the genre. Aside from taking time to puzzle out a route, the player is constantly moving, jumping, hovering and battling.

Who’s Going To Love It

The TV series has done a great job of maturing with its fan base, and this game is created just for them. Fans of the show are going to love playing as Ben and even more as some of their favorite aliens from the show.

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction is more challenging than you might think it would be and is probably best for kids (with average gaming skills) ages seven and up.

What To Be Aware Of

The camera control system is not very intuitive and can be frustrating until you get used to it.

I have always been impressed by how well written and interesting the stories on the Ben 10 cartoon are. Unfortunately, the game’s story isn’t as engaging and takes a while to get going. That said, this is still as close to controlling the cartoon as you can get.

Very high. Players will definitely want to play this one through to the end and once they do, they can return to any completed level and play through again using entirely different sets of aliens.

Fun Scale

3 out of 5

It has to be fun or it wouldn’t be on Time to Play. But some games are more fun than others so here’s our scale: 1 is fun, 2 is a lot of fun, 3 is great, 4 is awesome and 5 is out-of-this-world!
